2. MEMBERSHIP
2.2 - Full Membership
2.2.1 Shall be open to matriculated students of Queen Margaret University only.
2.2.2 In addition to point 2.2.1, The Society will be open to individuals who self-define as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Asexual, Pansexual, Undecided/Questioning or those who consider their sexuality to fall within the area defined by LGBT.
2.2.2.1 The Society Shall not exclude membership from self-defining Heterosexual/Straight individuals
2.2.3 Shall have full rights within The Society;
2.2.3.1 Able to vote in elections (see 3.4).
2.2.3.2 Able to participate in meetings (see 3.3).
2.2.3.3 Able to join in all activities.
2.2.3.4 Able to stand for committee positions.
2.2.3.5 Any other rights as may be decided by the resolution of the Open Meeting, and applying equally to all members.

2.3.4 Shall have partial rights within The Society;
2.3.4.1 Able to participate in meetings (see 3.3).
2.3.4.2 Any other rights as may be decided by the resolution of the Open Meeting, and applying equally to all members.

2.4.1 Previous presidents of The Society shall be classed as ‘Honorary Members’.
2.4.2 Shall not account for more than 10% of the membership during The Society’s actions.

2.4.4 Shall only be an advice base for current presidents and committee members.

2.5 - Membership Fee
2.5.1 No membership fee for Full Members or Honorary Members shall be charged.
2.5.1.1 Full Members must have a Students’ Union Insurance Card to engage in official activities outside of Edinburgh.
2.5.2 Associate Members wishing to partake in The Society’s actions shall pay a membership fee to join, set at the discretion of the Committee.

2.6 - Affiliations
2.6.1 The Society can affiliate to external bodies only where membership of those bodies does not collide with the running of the Students’ Union, and only with prior agreement from the Students’ Union.
